This iconic guitar was not well received back in 1958 and did not sell well. Only 81 were made in 1958 and 17 made in 1959 when production was stopped. The original Flying V's were made from Korina (white limba) considered by many as the best tone wood in the world for solid body guitars. In todays market, the original Flying V is probably one of the most expensive guitars in the world and are easily worth over $1,000,000. This Flying V being presented here an exact reproduction of a real 58 V and true to the exact size and shape of the originals. Further, this reproduction is made from Korina just like the originals were. It is available in either a black or white pick-guard and comes in gold hardware only. It has a nitro cellulose lacquer finish and light amber tint just like the originals. Customers have the option to pick the type of humbucker pick-ups to be installed.
