This bass was once a very plain natural finish Brubaker bass (poplar) that was completely
modified and changed to what you see here. Approximately 1/4" of the wood on the top of the
body was planed off and a new book-match 5A quilted maple top was installed. A completely
new tortoise shell pick-guard was designed for the new body look and a new body cavity was
created as well as pick-up cavities. The new wood top had to be contoured to match the
original body shape and the original neck had to be adjusted slightly to fit the new body top.
The neck was tinted a vintage amber and completely refinished. All the chrome hardware was
powder coated black to go with the new look of the bass guitar. The bass body was finished in a
3 color sunburst. This is a good example of what can be done with a "plain Jane" guitar or bass
to give them a completely new look. If you have a guitar that you want to modify and dress up
