This guitar is an example of a Legend synthizier guitar. This guitar has a book-matched highly figured Lacewood top on a Brazilian mahogany body but could have any book-matched exotic top a customer might want. The body is bound in a creme outer binding with a thin maple/ ebony/ maple inner binding. The rear control cavity is copper shielded and grounded to reduce 60 cycle hum. The 3 pick-ups are "Razor" vintage with a hot lead and a 5 way switch for traditional 5 way switching. This guitar has a fixed bridge ( strings go through the body for good sustain) but could come with a tremelo. This guitar is equipped with a Roland GK-2A synthizier pick-up and controller built right into the guitar body. The body is routed so that the controller fits into the cavity so that the top of the controller is flush with the top of the guitar. Also, the wire going from the pick-up to the controller is buried inside the body ( this keeps the wire out of your way and keeps the guitar neat and tidy with nothing that can fall off). Also the controller is hard wired to the jack input so no jack cord is needed outside the guitar to connect the controller and standard jack input ( all you need to do is plug in the 9 pin connector cable to the controller and everything is connected including the 3 passive pick-ups). On guitar mode the synth is de-activated; on guitar/ synth mode both the guitar pick-ups and synth pick-ups are activated and can be blended; and on synth mode only the synth is activated. This guitar is designed to be connected to a Roland synthizier such as the Roland GR-09 or any other Roland guitar synthizier. This guitar can also be used to input directly to a computer in a music software program such as "Cakewalk". The possibilities with this guitar are endless in terms of sounds that can be generated and versitality. Because this guitar is equipped with the Roland GK-2A pick-up, it can be used with the world famous Roland VG-8 guitar processor- fantastic. The neck is tiger maple, with a 12" radius rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, bi-flex 2 way adjustable truss rod, pearl dot markers, graph-tech nut, 6 in-line mini Gotoh tuners, neck tilt adjustment and the neck is buffed & finished in a high gloss clear lacquer. The headstock design is the Legend transition design which is no longer made. The pick-ups are rear mounted on this particular guitar and this practice has been discontinued by Legend Guitars ( all Pick-ups are now top mounted). For your information, we also build custom guitars with the Roland GK-2A pick-up and controller built in.
